The 2009 Nez Perce Tribe Department of Fisheries Resources Management
Symposium on Salmon Supplementation was held on January 14th & 15th, 2009 in Orofino, Idaho. The symposium was held to disseminate project information and support scientifically sound adaptive management of supplementation actions being implemented by the Nez Perce Tribe. The two day event covered the Nez Perce Tribe Hatchery (spring & fall Chinook Salmon within the Clearwater River basin), Johnson Creek Artificial Propagation & Enhancement (summer Chinook Salmon within the South Fork Salmon River basin) and the Lostine River Supplementation (spring Chinook Salmon within the Grande Ronde River basin) programs. Presentations included:
- Program purpose and implementation to date,
- Hatchery product performance,
- Natural production response, and
- Management recommendations.
